Program Description

Development Services’ goal is to provide high quality professional services and enforcement in the areas of zoning and comprehensive planning, building and health inspections, and code enforcement to all citizens of Kaufman, Texas.

The Department is responsible for protecting the public health, safety and welfare by coordinating all development activities for new construction, renovations and property maintenance. Through this coordination, the department seeks to accommodate the needs of the residents and businesses of the community, while implementing the development and building code ordinances, in order to build and maintain a higher quality of life. 

Development Services is made up of four divisions, which include Building Inspections, Planning, Code Enforcement and Public Health.
