Calendar of Events for:

 

  1. Prohibit the hosing or washing of paved areas, buildings or windows.
  2. Prohibit operation of ornamental fountains, if they use treated water.
  3. Prohibit washing or rinsing of vehicles with a hose.
  4. Prohibit wasteful practices of irrigation systems such as allowing run-off into public rights of way, watering impervious areas, or allowing known leakage to continue.
  5. Prohibit outdoor watering with sprinklers between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. year round.
  6. Existing swimming pools may not be drained and refilled.
  7. Limit watering with sprinklers to once every seven days according to the following schedule:
  • Residents east of Washington Street may water on Saturdays and
  • Residents west of Washington Street may water on Sunday.
  • Exception:      Foundations and new plantings or shrubs and trees may be watered for up to 2 hours on any day by a handheld hose or soaker hose.

Current News

Elections May 10

Elections will be held May 10 from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm for electing three City Councilmembers. The Polling Place will be the First Baptist Church at 302 South Washington. Early voting by personal appearance can be conducted at any one of six places throughout Kaufman County. Early voting begins April 28th. The City is also holding a Special Election on the same date. The Kaufman Economic Development Corporation and the City of Kaufman are asking the voters if they will allow the use of economic development sales tax finds for development of the Kaufman Viet Nam Wall Memorial. KKB Green space

The City Council has approved a plan submitted by Keep Kaufman Beautiful to improve the empty lot south of City Hall. The City has already planted grass. KKB is going to come in and plant gardens and construct a gazebo. Let's watch it develop. Thank Board Members Lisa Parker, Shana Holder, Karla Chandler, Elaine Marusak, Mary Cline and Janis Lindsey when you see them.

"Kaufman Progress"

Coming this month is the first community City produced newsletter in Kaufman. the new "Kaufman Progress" will be distributed in the utility bills and posted here on the web site. The purpose of the newsletter is to keep citizens informed about what is going on in City Hall. Items to be covered will be how we are doing financially, what progress we are making on capital improvements, any new programs implemented and generally items of current interest like the stories you find on this page.
