Capital Improvement Projects & Budgets

The purpose of this page is to provide updates on various capital improvement projects, as well as transparency where related budgets and costs are concerned.  Please check back periodically for additional updates.

Municipal Joint Facility Complex Project Update:

9/6/17 - Water, Wastewater and Storm Drainage lines are complete.  Contractor has begun drilling piers and preparing the forms for the concrete beams in preparation for the foundation that will occur once the appropriate utilities are ‘stubbed up’ to support the structure. Electrical contractors are onsite to begin the underground electric.

County Road 151 Project Update:

9/6/17 - Tree removal is nearly complete.  Contractor has partially closed off the section of CR 151 to a single lane from Kings Fort to the Dentist Office and then from Washington Street to Moon's Cafeteria for the construction of the storm drainage, driveways and street upgrade.  This is expected to last for 8 weeks if weather permits.  The contractor has scheduled to begin the water line upgrade and replacement next week. That construction will begin at the new SH 34 bypass.

Downtown Streetscape Project:

9/6/17 - Preconstruction meeting was held Monday, August 28th.  A Notice to Proceed will be issued after the Contractor, Consultant & City Staff meet with Downtown Merchants on Sept 6th.  This project is expected to begin construction around the end of September or the first of October 2017.downtown streetscape project budget
